چکیده

The two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae is one of the most polyphagous and damaging pests worldwide. behaviour differs on its various host plants this could influence crop defence strategies. We investigated perception leaf morphology by T. in relation to effects visible light selection sites which females prefer live feed. Mite chose shaded surface when smooth glabrous lemon leaves were offered as a for living feeding, showing photophobic behaviour. However, they clearly preferred abaxial bean regardless presence or absence light. As no differences found regarding food quality between adaxial surfaces, seems be related firstly secondly regards first factor, prefers with complicated architecture, i.e. veins relief, can easily build their dense web, factor has priority comparison negative effect radiations. second important leaves, these being unsuitable building characteristic webs urticae.

Control of two–spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) by some selected chemicals

The experiment was conducted to study the effectiveness of four commonly used chemicals viz., deltamethrin, cypermethrin, malathion and sulphur against two-spotted spider mite (TSSM), Tetranychus urticae Koch on potted bean plants and on excised leaf discs. Mite population remained significantly lower in all treated plots except malathion treatment. The population of T. urticae differed signifi...

Reproductive parameters of Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks) fed with Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Phytoseiidae, Tetranychidae) in laboratory.

Predatory mites that belong to the Phytoseiidae family are one of the main natural enemies of phytophagous mites, thus allowing for their use as a biological control. Phytoseiulus macropilis (Banks, 1904) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is among the main species of predatory mites used for this purpose. Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae) is considered to be one of the most important sp...

Repellent effects of various cherry tomato accessions on the two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae).

Several studies have been conducted on resistance sources to improve the genetic resistance of farm-grown tomatoes to arthropod pests, including phytophagous mites. In the present study, we evaluate the behavior of the two-spotted spider mite on different cherry tomato accessions to identify possible sources of resistance (repellent effect) to this pest. Sixty-four accessions of cherry tomatoes...

Effect of Plant Materials on Developmental Periods of Two Spotted Spider Mite, Tetranychus Urticae Koch (acari: Tetranychidae)

Low concentration of raw flower juice of Calotropis porcera (Asclepiadecae) and seed dust of Nerium oleander (Apocynacae) significantly delayed the egg to adult development of two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, for three successive generations under laboratory trial. The flower juice of C. porcera was found more effective than the seed dust of N. oleander in delaying the develop...

Pyrethroid Lambdacyhalothrin-Induced Population Increase of Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari:

J. Agric. Entomol. l(}(3):197-203 (July 1993) ABSTRACT Based on data from apple trees without the presence of any predatory mites, the effect of the pyrethroid lambdacyhalothrin on population density of the twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, is reported. Results show that significantly (P < 0.05) higher numbers of T. urticae were found in pyrethroid·treatcd trees relative to the ...
